The Story Behind The Music Joint Group
Elena Rodrigo is the founder and leader of The Music Joint Group, a multiservice agency established in 2016. She is widely recognized as a pioneer in promoting Latin Alternative Music in the United States, with over 30 years of experience in television, radio, and major record labels. She co-founded Aztlan Records, the first independent label dedicated to signing U.S. Latin alternative talent, based in San Francisco, California.
During her tenure at major record labels, Elena played an integral role in developing and advancing the careers of leading Iberoamerican artists, including Molotov, Juanes, Café Tacvba, Control Machete, Bersuit Vergarabat, Orishas, Babasonicos, IKV, and Mala Rodriguez. Before founding The Music Joint Group, she established ER: M+M, an event promotions and artist development agency specializing in public relations, consulting, and college/community radio promotion. Her client portfolio included Enrique Bunbury, Enanitos Verdes, Panteón Rococó, Zoé, La Ley, Novalima, Mala Rodriguez, Bebe, Black Tide, Disturbed, White Stripes, and Pxndx, as well as marketing the sold-out stadium concerts for Spanish rock icons Héroes del Silencio and Argentinean legends Soda Stereo.
The Music Joint Group collaborates with leading clients, renowned artists, major festivals, corporate partners, and national tours across the U.S. and Mexico. For three consecutive years, TMJG produced its signature Uateke Fest, showcasing diverse musical genres in major U.S. cities and multiple concerts throughout California.
